that70sguy2000's "RE:CoW:The Movie" review

Director: Tyler Redick
Writer(s): Vince Szachury and Tyler Redick

"Chronicles of Wesker: The Movie" began a new look into GTA machinima, AKA full-length movie-like machinimas. The series follows Resident Evil characters Albert Wesker and Chris Redfeild on their attempt to save San Andreas from unknown forces that are ALSO trying to assassinate Wesker. I will give my pros & cons, and then my final verdict.

Pros:
· Voice acting. Vince Szachury’s Albert Wesker voices once again dominates the GTA machinima world and is still a great component of Tyler Redick’s vision of a comedic Wesker.
· Plot holes were filled. Why is Wesker such an idiot? Answer in the machinima. What was his origin? Answer revealed also.
· Old characters have cameos. Marsha, Big Chief, among others had great comebacks.
Very big twist that fills a big plothole. I don’t want to reveal spoilers, so viewers, it’s up to you to find that out.
· The character development was well done. Characters changed and were very viewer-friendly. Chris and Wesker are the good ones. Chris found a way to trust Wesker to fight the unknown forces, and Wesker found what his place was in this world. Kudos to this.

Cons:
· Comedy seemed a little forced, like the running gag of Wesker running out of fuel. While sometimes maintaining its hilarious aspect, it also seemed forced into the writing, all the while making more scenes become predictable.
· Lack of drama. This machinima was very big on comedy, and the drama failed to fit into the side-splitting cross-over world that Tyler Redick created.
· Some plot holes weren’t filled. Crossovers fail to explain some of these. How’d the Joker get in? How did Cloud come into the Resident Evil world? For once, I’d like to see a Tyler Redick machinima WITHOUT crossovers.

My final verdict? Overall, it was a good machinima, heavy-hearted comedy, some things were bad and could have been worked upon, but some of the good things made up for it. So what’s my rating? 7/10, or 3.5/5. I’m hyped for what Tyler and Vince have in store for their fans next.

"Resident Evil: The Chronicles of Wesker: The Movie" machinima review by Nrt4

Director: Tyler Redick
Writer(s) : Vince Szachtury and Tyler Redick

"Resident Evil: The Chronicles of Wesker: The Movie" bring Tyler Redick's popular series "The Chronicles of Wesker" onto the big screen (O.k maybe the screen size stayed the same). The series follows Resident Evil characters Albert Wesker and Chris Redfeild on there attempt to save San Andreas from the clutches of evil. The movie had horrible quality but its edited with Windows Movie Maker and it went through a Youtube upload so what can you expect? And Tyler has apologized about it so thats o.k. Just like past machinimas made by Tyler Redick it has quite lengthy fight scenes. It also continues the running gag of Wesker running out of fuel. Although it is pretty funny it seemed way too overdone in the movie. Well enough bashing. The things that kept me interested in the movie were the great storyline of the film and the great voice acting (Done by Tyler Redick , Vince Szachtury). Szachtury's Wesker is makes him sound pissed off all the time and is very comical. Although it does seem like I did not like this I did and I would watch it again.

Overall Rating: 4 out of 5

Pros:
  • the Voice Acting
  • Twists of the plot
  • The suspense
  • Soundtrack
  • Breaking of the fourth wall (When the barrier between the movie world and real world are broken)
  • Movie references
Cons:
  • Overuse of the "No Fuel" gag
  • lengthy fight scenes
  • Video quality
